Bagi pemakai HP Nokia ber-Symbian S60 mungkin pernah memakai Nokia Map, terutama yang Nokia nya sudah ber-GPS. Nah, saat menggunakan Nokia Map pasti si HP langsung minta online – kaya Saykoji hehe – untuk mengupdate petanya, tapi bagi yang tidak punya koneksi internet unlimited pasti bakalan teriak2 karena tiba2 bisa terjadi pulsa berkurang atau tagihan melonjak akibat traffic buat update peta tersebut.
Supaya Nokia Map nggak terus2an update peta, maka donlot aja peta Nokia tersebut untuk region dimana kita perlukan.
Cara pertama bisa pake Nokia Map Loader yang jalan via Nokia PC Suite, tapi tentu saja cuma bisa pilih satu region saja untuk satu waktu, karena file peta-nya gak disimpen di PC dan gak bisa di-copy untuk Nokia yang lain.
Cara kedua dengan download peta dari Nokia tanpa Nokia Map Loader, tapi harus tahu dulu Nokia Map yang ada di HP versi berapa, karena saat ini ada 2 versi peta Nokia yaitu Ovi Maps 3.0 dan Nokia Maps 2.0. Cara untuk bisa tau versi peta yg dibutuhkan bisa dilihat di sini
Karena saya pakai Nokia 6120 Classic maka peta yang saya butuhkan adalah Nokia Maps 2.0. Kemudian lakukan instruksi seperti di bawah ini.
Update: someone on the Nokia forum managed to fix a “map layers out of sync” problem by allowing the maps application to go online once. Should you face the same problem, this solution may work for you too.
Instructions
Run Nokia Maps on your phone once before you add any maps or voices. This will create the required folder structure on your memory card.
Unzip the downloaded map files and drop them into the appropriate folders on your memory card.
On my Nokia the folder structure is cities with a subfolder called diskcache, filled with 16 subfolders called 0 to 9 and a to f, and each of these folders have another 16 subfolders 0 to 9 and a to f.
Map files have the extension .cdt. Example:
[memory card]\cities\diskcache\[0-9, a-f]\[0-9, a-f]\filename.cdt
• On some Nokia phones (like the N95) maps are stored in:
\Private\20001f63\diskcache\[0-9, a-f]\[0-9, a-f]\filename.cdt
• To install, just drop the 16 folders called 0-9 and a-f into the diskcache folder.
• If your phone has both folders, get a small map (for a single country) and try both folders to see which one works. Even Nokia’s own map loader doesn’t always get it right. Details on the Nokia discussion board.
• You may need to tell your computer to show hidden files and folders.
